FUNERAL - HOME GOING AND AFTER EXPENSES

Hi, I am Lydia Merrett the cousin to Dominique Carr, Nicole Sanders, Richard Lewis Sr. and Rico Evans, I am assisting with organizing this fundraiser on the behalf of the mother, grandmother, grandfather and uncle of Rashad Lavon Carr, who was tragically taken away from us due to a mass shooting on 1/23/2023 while attending Starts Right Here Movement school in Des Moines, Iowa, along with his good friend Gionni, as well as the founder of the school Will Kemp, who was severely injured. Rashad was only 16 years old and Gionni was 18 years old. The family is not only struggling mentally with the loss of their loved ones, but they are also trying to make sure all expenses are covered as well as the financial strain they will take on after the services. Rashad was a striving musical person as well as he loved playing football. He and his best friend were inseparable and definitely will be greatly missed.

My question is when will all this violence stop when we all come together worldwide and teach our teens it is not okay to take another's life just because? We are assisting his mother Dominique Carr with putting this together as she has six other children to attend to as well as help them with the loss of their older brother, and remain strong for herself. Rashad also lost his father in 2008 to gun violence. Please keep the families in your prayers and donate what is in your heart, there is no such thing as too little.

The proceeds will be used for his Funeral arrangements and homecoming celebration, as well as any financial debt inquired after. Also at the request of his mother, she will donate to a cause to assist with teen mental counseling.
