Jessica was born Sunday, May 30, 1982, in Paola, Kansas, the daughter of Morris Ray Melte, Jr. and Tracy Ann (Miller) Price.
She was a lifelong Miami and Linn County resident.
She attended Central Heights High School.
Jessica was united in marriage to Trent Elmquist August 9, 1998, in Goodrich, Kansas. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her two sons, Mason Allen Lane Elmquist and Presten Chase Luther Elmquist of Osawatomie; mother, Tracy Price and husband Gary of Osawatomie; father, Morris Melte Jr. and wife Wendey of Brookfield, Missouri; sisters, Chassi Marie Melte of Lane, Amanda Melte of Brookfield, Missouri, and Nena Rae Hedrick of Brookfield, Missouri; brothers, Shaun Morris Melte of Rantoul, John Jay Rees of Paola, and Joseph Duey of Rockport, Texas; maternal grandmother, Freda Miller of Goodrich; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of the Amazing Grace Full Gospel Church in Parker, Kansas.
Jessica’s relationship with God was most important to her. She was an artist with an eye for making something out of anything and spent much of her time drawing, painting, writing songs and poems. Jessie was described as an outdoorsy girl who enjoyed being in the country fishing with her dogs, but especially loved spending time with family and her boys.
