Final Expenses for Chris Cooper

Donation protected
On August 1, 2016, Chris' 44th birthday, he was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer with metastasis to the liver and lungs.  Despite knowing this was a "death sentence" he opted for chemotherapy to prolong his life.  During this time, he was adamant about being independent and living alone.

He has had numerous blood transfusions, and paracentesis to remove fluid from his abdomen.  He has suffered greatly, but has never complained.  On Sunday, March 11, 2018, Chris was found unresponsive in his apartment, he does not remember anything about Sunday.  See, no one had heard from him nor was able to reach him since March 9th.  Which means he could have been laying there for two days, before being found.  It seems he has had a stroke, at some point, and his cognitive skills are a come and go situation at this time.  He can hear what is going on, and on occasion, he can and will respond.  Chris is in the hospital at this moment in "comfort care", simply being kept as comfortable as possible, while he is awaiting a bed at hospice.  His parents are with him 24/7, which is very costly, in itself.

During the time of the treatments and all that goes with it, Chris just wanted to live a normal life, as normal as he could.  The only thing with that, is he could not work.  He was getting help from family and friends.  Chris has applied for disability, medicaid, and insurance to help cover the cost of medical bills, which at this time, the insurance still has not been approved, and the bills just keep going higher and higher. This caused the family to be in the situation they are in now, with no money for a funeral for Chris, when that day comes.

Chris has a son, Jeff, who is married and expecting the first grandchild.  A grandchild that will never meet his grandfather.

As we do not know what day God will call Chris home to heaven, these funds are needed as quickly as we can get them. The goal is to have these funds in full by March 30, 2018.  Michelle (Chris' ex wife and mother of Jeff) will be handling the final expenses as they are received from this.

Please help in any way possible, as this family has suffered greatly since that dreadful day, August 1, 2016.

Thank you and may God bless you!
