Our dear friend and comrade Rev. Annie Chambers and her family are grieving the loss of two family members that passed last week. Her brother John Edward Chambers died of covid-19 and her stepson Rudolph Lomax was shot and killed on the same day. This is a tragic loss for their family and it is only compounded by the stress of figuring out how to pay for the funeral expenses of two family members at once.
While some of us did not have the pleasure of knowing her brother John and stepson Rudolph, we know that Rev. Annie Chambers has been a warrior fighting for the rights, dignity, and survival of poor people and is even now still helping to ensure her neighbors in Douglass Homes have food. These are hard times for many, but if you are able we ask you to together as a community help lift the load on her family by donating funds.
The funds will be used for modest funeral expenses. Rev. Chambers is in charge of the final expenses. All money collected will be given to her. Since the funds are needed next week so they can have the "service" by the 1st, we are raising money until Monday, May 25th. Thanks in solidarity.
