In Memory of George William Apollo Nyero

On the 14th of November 2021 at the MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, Maryland, USA, Brig. George William Apollo Nyero, a former top Ugandan military officer and beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather finished his long and well-fought battle with congestive heart failure and went home to be with his Lord and Savior. Mr. Nyero is survived by his loving wife Teddy Nanyonga Nyero and his children, Charles, Fiona, Joyce, James, Patrick, Julius, Beatrice, and Eric. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

 

He will be buried at his ancestral home in Gulu, Uganda. The Nyero family now faces not only the task of giving him the send-off he deserves as a devoted servant of his native country and the adored patriarch of the family, but also carrying on without him. Funeral arrangements are underway and will be communicated at the appropriate time. We are asking for any donations that you can provide to help us as a family fulfill his last wishes and close the book on the extraordinary life of an extraordinary man. No amount is too small.
