Funeral Expenses - Henry & Valerie

As we all know, Henry Kurko passed away last Saturday, August 18. Henry was a wonderful, giving man and father who, above all, loved his daughter Valerie Kurko with every fiber of his being. Valerie often posted on Facebook how Henry, her dad, was her best friend. Valerie, grief stricken over the death of her father, tragically took her life earlier this week.
While Henry and Valerie were rich in their love and the love of their friends and family, they were not financially well off. As uncomfortable as the topic is, cremation/burial expenses are not insignificant.
Henry's cremation was approximately $1000 and was paid for by Henry's sister, Lisa. It's assumed that Valerie's cremation will be a similar cost. Additionally, Valerie died in Pennsylvania so there may be the added expense of a family member travelling there to identify her and claim her remains.
I know none of Henry's and Valerie's family is wealthy and I'm assuming the same for their friends. I'm hoping that all of us who knew and loved them can contribute however much we are able to and feel comfortable giving, to help pay for Henry's cremation and, if necessary, to help with expenses related to Valerie's cremation and/or to help to bring Valerie home to Texas so she can be laid to rest with her dad.
All funds will be dispersed to Henry's sister, Valerie's aunt, Lisa. Henry spent over 10 years living with Lisa and she continues to be his care-giver even in death. I'm hoping we can help relieve this financial burden for her.
