Funeral Expenses: Grif the Great
Goodbyes are always hard.
But when we are asked to offer a goodbye, far, far too soon, and to a soul filled with the kind of light and love too great for words .... it feels utterly impossible.
It is with heaviest of hearts that we must say: the time has come for us to bid aloha ‘oe to the sunshine of so many of our lives—Grif Taylor Kai Pierce.
Saturday evening, February 29, Grif became unresponsive. He was rushed to Kahuku Emergency Room. Tests performed at Kahuku ER showed significant swelling and bleeding in his brain. He was immediately transferred to Kapiolani Medical Center where his long time, highly competent, and much beloved team of medical specialists confirmed that our sweet boy had suffered a hemorrhage, deep in the thalamus of his brain. Grif has remained unresponsive ever since, and is, at the time of this writing, on life support, in a medically induced coma.
Upon exhausting all possible medical interventions, Grif’s brain has continued to swell. The damage sustained is absolutely catastrophic, thus rendering a recovery of any kind absolutely out of reach.
Over what we imagine will be only a few short days, everything possible will be done to support Grif—while surrounded by so many who love him so very much—as he makes a peaceful transition from this life to the next.

Please continue to petition heaven in the Pierce family’s behalf, and particularly, pray for the kind of peace that surpasses understanding to rest upon each of their hearts, as they walk, hand in hand, into the unimaginable hardship that lies ahead.

NOTE: This Go Fund Me Page is set up to help the Pierce family navigate forthcoming funeral expenses for their sweet Grif.
