Steven J. Daneau, 60, of Dracut formerly of Chelmsford, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Susan E. Daneau, with whom he shared a loving 24 year marriage.
Born in Lowell, on March 11, 1957, Steve was the son of Leo J. Daneau of Chelmsford and the late Alice C. (Owens) Daneau. Steve was raised in Chelmsford having graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1976.
For many years, Steve worked as a quality control inspector for various government contractors. He was an avid model antique car collector. Steve's love of animals brought him to open his home to many pets. Steve was a longtime member of the Chelmsford Elks and IBEW 1505. He delighted in his family and was very proud of his sons.
In addition to his wife and father, Steve is survived by his children, Adam T. Daneau and wife, Jacquelyn of Nashua, NH; Zachary C. Daneau and girlfriend, Lauren Gagne of Dracut. Steve was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first grandchild, MacKenzie Daneau whose arrival is expected this month. He also leaves his siblings, Ronald L. Daneau of Chelmsford; Sheila A. Lambert of San Antonio, TX; his uncle, John Silva of Westford; a brother-in-law, Jonathan Minott and wife, Elizabeth of Maine; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was the brother-in-law of the late Normand Lambert.
