Funeral Expenses for my wife Renee

Donation protected
I have no words to express how devastated our family is. My best friend, love of my life and mother of my children passed away today. (Not Covid related). I was outside getting our bikes ready for our first ride of the year as well as a picnic and when I came in to get her she was unresponsive. I did CPR until the ambulance came but there was nothing to be done.

I talked to the funeral home and such and the costs are higher than expected.
Renée had so many ongoing projects, goals and was testing for various certifications that will never be fulfilled. We were recording a new CD and I will be mixing it to release it later as well as updating her website and creating a tribute to her.
We will be having a small service at Midwest Buddhist Temple on April 24th at Noon. Since it’s Covid and we cannot get together we, the family, are asking for assistance to cover the costs of the funeral, memorial and miscellaneous expenses in lieu of flowers or the like. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

As we are Japanese Buddhist and teachers of Japanese arts we are following the tradition of “koden” or “okoden” as observed. That’s a monetary gift given in envelopes to the bereaved family.
Many time this is done in person but in Covid....
At 53 this really wasn’t on the plan to have to deal with. We had some set aside but wow the cost, for our minimalist funeral, is nearly 6,000. Thank you all for helping us in the time of need. 合掌 and thank you.

The below song was her gift to me on our 18th anniversary. Please enjoy.
