I cannot believe I am even writing this right now.
While this year has been difficult for many, it has been particularly challenging for Michael as he battled depression. Though many of us remember him as the light that would brighten any room, the kind-hearted smile that would bring joy to anyone in his path, he struggled to find happiness within himself. Michael Coppola was my friend, my family, and someone who I never imagined having to write something like this for. It pains me to think of how he was feeling; how truly unhappy, and just completely opposite the cheerful, beautiful person we all knew and loved.
There are not enough kind words to describe Michael Coppola. Anyone who has ever been lucky enough to meet him knows just what an absolute sweetheart he was. He never failed to make people laugh with his quick witted jokes and absolutely contagious laughter. He had a heart of gold and was always there for those he loved, even when he was struggling himself. He was always a phone call away, my shoulder to cry on, my biggest critic, and yet biggest fan. He’s been my best friend since we were kids, and I could always count on Michael. He will always be my brother,my family. I will forever cherish our friendship, his love, his hugs, dinner dates, our memories, our bond for the rest of my life.
My Michael, you will be so deeply missed. May the Angels lead you in and guide you to your big sis, Shara Until we meet again, Angel.
