Funeral Expenses For Cora Lee McDow

Two very dear friends of mine are living every parents worst nightmare. Their sweet baby girl, Cora Lee McDow, passed away hours after birth from a rare birth defect known as Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). There is a short video above of their family.
Kendall and Matt McDow, as well as their 2 children, are a military family currently stationed in Kodiak, AK. They were expecting their 3rd bundle of joy this year. On Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, Kendall went to her regularly scheduled OB appointment and learned she was measuring much larger than expected and a sonogram was needed to determine why. The next day she learned that her daughter had CDH and was scheduled for a non stress test the following day. On Friday, January 19th, 2018, she went in for her test and was having regular contractions at which point she was emergency airlifted from Kodiak, AK to Seattle, WA. She was given medication to stop labor and her doctors had hopes of keeping sweet Cora inside as long as possible but unfortunately that was not God's will. On Sunday, January 22nd, 2018 at 2am Kendall went into labor and delivered Cora shortly after. Cora was doing well at first and then began to decline. After only 2 short hours with her, Kendall and Matt had to make the decision to let Cora pass peacefully in their arms.
The weight on this family is growing daily. They are overrun with grief from the loss of their daughter and trying to comfort their children who just lost their baby sister. They hope to fly to Kansas to be with family and to lay Cora Lee to rest. There are funeral expenses, flights for their family as well as a separate flight for Cora in her casket, and hotel stays to pay for in the days ahead. As you can imagine, this was completely unexpected. While the military has provisions in place to aid in sudden loss, there are also documents that are required before aid is rendered. Since Cora's records are not available for many weeks, the financial burden will fall solely on Kendall and Matt.
