Funeral Expenses for Anya

When she was 2, doctors discovered a brain tumor, which required chemotherapy. The following year, she underwent radiation to her head and spine. At ages 11 and 12, she successfully completed treatments for two more brain tumors.
In 2010, she was unable to breathe, and her parents rushed her to the ER, where she was put into a drug-induced coma. After eight weeks, she was able to return home, but later that year was hospitalized again for seven weeks, four of which she required life support. Sadly, the chemotherapy and radiation caused severe scarring of her lungs, leading to pulmonary fibrosis, acute respiratory distress syndrome and interstitial lung disease.
She recieved a double lung transplant almost 4 years ago on November 22nd 2013. During those 4 years she continued to live her life as meaningfully as she could. About a year and a half ago she was diagnosed with Chronic Rejection of her transplant. It was a slow downhill spiral with many trips back out to Pittsburgh to see her transplant team and go through many bronchoscopies and breathing treatments to prolong what wound up being inevitable.
A month ago she was able to get off the couch, but needed assistance climbing stairs. Her health deteriorated, and her strength dissapeared. She needed to be carried up stairs, and needed help standing up. On Friday November 4th she was taken to the local hospital as she was having trouble breathing and was constantly tired, even with her O2 on the highest setting.
The doctors informed us that there were some possible infections that they had seen on a CT Scan that they could attempt to treat, but that Anya would be the same, if not worse than when she had initially arrived at the Hospital. After lots of prayer and discussion with Anya she made the call to stop further life saving measures as she knew she was dying, and wanted to be as comfortable as she could as she went on into the next life.
Today, November 8th, 2017 at 4:30pm EST Anya passed. She felt no pain, she no longer suffers, and no longer has to fight. Anya will forever be remembered as the woman who cared more about others as she did herself, as even on her 2nd to last day on earth she was asking guests if they needed any beverages, and that if they were thirsty she could have a nurse bring them water. She was truley loved, and displayed what we all wish to see more of from ourselves.
Any money donated will be given to the Parents of Anya to assist in covering Funeral expenses.
