My mom was a strong, loving and caring mother. She was diagnosed in August with Pre Leukemia. After many weeks of treatment ( blood transfusions and medicines) and many weeks of being in the hospital her condition got worse. On Friday, December 13th the Dr. gave us the bad news that she had full blown Leukemia. The Dr. said that there was only one more route they could take. A medicine that she would take for 28 days and if her body could handle it it would prolong her life. On Sunday, December 30th her white blood count was worse than ever. At this time the Dr. discontinued the medicine and wanted to move my mother to hospice. On Friday, January 3rd at 12:30 am she was transferred to hospice. We stayed with her until 3 am to make sure she was taken care of by the nurses. At 5:50 am my mother had passed. My parents are on a fixed income with SSI and his state retirement, and there was no life insurance to cover the cost of the funeral. All funds being raised are to go to paying for the layout and other bills that have accumulated for her hospital stay. So please find it in your heart to donate even if its a dollar. 100% will go to all her expenses. The Carey family greatly appreciates all who have and will donate to help my father out in this grieving time. I will be in charge of all donations going to all the right expenses.
