Long Lake Provincial Park was created in 1988 and laid largely dormant for almost 30 years. The grand opening of the Lakeview Trail on Earth Day 2016 changed all that, giving easy access to walkers, runners, strollers, bikers, and four-legged friends.
The new Waterfront Trail followed in the Spring of 2017 – opening the park’s pristine lake and shoreline to easy access for the first time.
Why we need your support
Ongoing improvements in this area of Long Lake Provincial Park are managed by a volunteer LLPPA board that relies SOLELY on donations and grants to fund operations and any possible future expansion of existing facilities.
What’s great is that every dollar raised by the LLPPA can likely be matched with between $2 and $4 of funding from different government and institutional community grant programs. These grant programs require the LLPPA to participate in some level of self-funding.
POLYCORP has created a new event to raise money for the Long Lake Provincial Park Association, which we are calling a Fun-DUCT-Raiser. All funds raised by the event are to be donated to the LLPPA. We’re hoping this will become an annual event!
Here’s the idea
Participants can enter as either individuals or teams (there are FOUR different classes – find the one that suits you best below).
Your watercraft can only be constructed using TWO items: duct tape and cardboard.
We encourage you to decorate it however you’d like and if you wish to paint it, please use LATEX paint only.
Decorations cannot affect the structural strength or buoyancy.
