Fund Their Future

Donation protected

Isaac, a former child laborer, now in school.

Isaac is one of the four children who was sold into slavery back in 2009. Up until 2011, Isaac and three of his other friends worked relentlessly in highly vulnerable and dangerous conditions within the  West African fishing industry. Through Cheerful Hearts Foundation’s extensive networks and support, we were able to save all four children and return them back to their community and families in Senya.

Cheerful Hearts Foundation is a registered grassroot non-profit in Ghana that has been tackling Child Trafficking and Labor in three major fishing communities (Nyanyano, Fetteh, Senya) since 2008. They have successfully rescued hundreds of children, and currently fully sponsor 46 kids through education. One of the foundation’s success stories is Emmanuel, a former child laborer who was once restricted to education due to poverty. Now, after Cheerful Hearts’ successful campaigns and sponsorships, he is on his way to college to become a doctor to later serve as a leader in his community. Cheerful Hearts continues to empower communities and illustrate the power of education.

Given this, we strive to continue our mission and expand our sponsorship. Your donation will help support Isaac and the three other highly vulnerable children through two full years of education.

This is the breakdown of how the money will be spent:

Tuition and fees for 1 year - $75
Feeding/Lunch for 1 year - $98
Book supplies for 1 year - $30
School bag - $15
School uniform - $15
Shoes - $17

Plan to deliver the donation to the beneficiary:

To ensure that 100% of your donation goes to the beneficiary organization for the payment of the school fees and supplies, we have the plan below in place to avoid all international transfer fees:
1. Funds would be redrawn by a former intern of Cheerful Hearts Foundation from the US, Ruth Chen. She is also one of the key fundraisers and donor for this campaign – most of you may know her.
2. The funds would be transferred to beneficiary organization, Cheerful Hearts Foundation, for the payment of all fees of these kids stated above through an app called Wave. Wave allows transfers to Ghana through mobile money system without any transaction fees.
