Funds to End Guns (April 20 Rally)

Donation protected
Who we are: We are Violence to Voices (VTV), a student-run, student-organized, gun safety advocacy group, comprised of 11 teenagers, ranging from being a freshman to senior in high school.
Where we’re from: We are teenagers at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT (a town on the CT shoreline, right next to the Long Island Sound) who are part of the national movement to end gun violence everywhere, especially in schools. We are calling for stricter gun control to ensure that no student, teacher, parent, or staff member will be scared to go to school because of the fear of getting shot and killed.
Our event: On Friday, April 20, there will be a national school walkout at 10:00 am in every time zone across the country. Over 2,000 schools have already made plans to walkout to call for stricter gun control legislation.  April 20 is the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting, and for that reason, this date is extremely important for people to gather together and protest so our voices are heard. Gun control should have been passed the first school shooting, so that is why it is imperative we stand up now and demand action and change from our legislators. For more information, check out these links: https://www.nationalschoolwalkout.net/ and https://www.change.org/p/u-s-senate-national-high-school-walk-out-for-anti-gun-violence
Where and when: We are having our own rally on the Madison Green from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It is entirely student run, organized, and led.
We will have student speakers, local and state politicians, and a march to make sure Congress hears our voices and ensures that every kid, teacher, and staff member is safe in our schools again.
Relationship to donors: We are specifically looking for adults on the shoreline of CT to donate to our cause. Our relationship  to you is that we live in your communities, and we hope you'll consider supporting this cause that affects not just people on the CT shoreline, but nationwide. To that end, please donate and/or participate! Volunteers should sign up here:  https://goo.gl/forms/QucwsLRYTiyCIkX42
Contact to donors: Right now, we haven't been contacting you directly; we've been posting this on social media in hopes that you will donate! You can contact us here: [email redacted]. We also have social media to follow (see below)!
How the funds will be spent: Initally, we thought we would spend the money on equipment for the rally. Our equipment has been provided to us for free, so all current and future donations will we used to sponsor a future event pertaining to ending gun violence and enacting stricter gun control legislation.
Withdrawal process: Once we get a date for our next event, we will update this page. If we need to have equipment we need to buy/rent, we will directly allow companies to withdraw the appropriate amount of money to cover expenses.

We appreciate your support in helping us make every place in America safe. We are the students, we are the victims, we are change.
