Fundraiser for Remi's care

Content Warning: domestic violence, sexual assault.

The Story:
What do you do when you have to start over, not once but twice?
8 years ago, Chelsea entered into a relationship with her now ex-partner.  Her ex-partner physically and emotionally abused her for years. It took many friends and allies, and many calls to the police to help Chelsea get the strength to leave her abuser. Chelsea became pregnant.

She found out in the Fall of 2017 that she was 4 months pregnant.  Chelsea gave birth prematurely due to a short cervix  on January 22, 2017 at 2:28 AM. Remi spent months in the NICU. He finally came home, although on oxygen.

HE WEIGHS 13 lbs now!!! (He was barely 3.3 lbs and  when he was born)

More background:
Victims of domestic violence often are abused in childhood. Her ex-partner was not her first abuser. As a child, Chelsea faced emotional abuse and neglect at the hands of her mother. Chelsea had an unstable homelife and had to stay with multiple friends and their families

Because of Chelsea's position, being pregnant, needing to find a new place to live etc, after she gave birth, Chelsea moved in with her mother so that she could find a place of her own and stabalize.

Since coming home in March, her mother has kicked her out, leaving Remi and Chelsea homeless.

They are safe now, and are living with a friend and will not be returning to the Mother's house.

Recent, necessary background:
Just recently, Chelsea's mother filed an emergency motion to try and gain custody of her child. In doing so, she colluded with Chelsea's abusive ex-partner, even going as far as allowing the ex-partner over to convince him to give up custody to her.

The court dismissed the case, because Chelsea's mother didn't have a leg to stand on. Chelsea's mother was spreading horrible lies about Chelsea's fitness as a mother. Those allegations were met with documentation that Remi is well cared for, is being cared for by his mother, and that his mother is mentally and emotionally fit.

Chelsea is filing for childsupport, pre-disability (Remi was born prematurely, and has been on oxygen and may require lots of medical care), and disability/welfare for herself so that she can support Remi on her own, and go to school.

What we need:

Chelsea had to leave her mother's house quickly and has only necessities for Remi's care

She needs:

A reliable car so that she can get Remi and herself to important appointments/job/school

She needs money for care that is not covered under insurance (thankfully his formula is).

She needs money for childcare so she does not have to ask the people she is related to for help, as they have all taken her mother's side and cannot be trusted with Remi.

Diapers

Other items related to baby care.

We are unsure at this point what items she will be allowed to take from her mother's house, if at all. She has all basic necessities but any more can help.

I have set up this fund so that she can take care of her son.

Chelsea needs help. Please help in any way you can, even if it is $5.  For this little chubba right here.
