Funds for Michael

We are starting a new fundraiser to help support Michael’s living expenses and every day necessities.  Our last gofundme bought his trip to Oregon to be with family for the holidays.  Since then, his health conditions have drastically changed and he now requires home nurses and hospice care.  During his trip to the mainland, he had a minor accident where he slipped and fell which lead to a whole new problem called ascites.  Ascites is the accumulation of fluid in his abdomen walls causing lots of swelling and pain.  This requires weekly draining (paracentesis) and a constant monitoring of his pain as it fluctuates. His options have become somewhat limited as different procedures and surgeries had high risk and minimal percentages of full recovery.


In all of these changes, Michael has not been able to work, his tutu is going back to Oregon, he's applying for food stamps and he is also covering all medical bills and expenses. 


The thing is, he has been managing his money and covering all his needs but the truth is his he could use additional help.  On top of his basic necessities Michael tries to go out with friends when he feels well.  He wants to enjoy his good days and go out for meals, catch up with people and have the means to be comfortable and happy as much as possible. A few months ago Michael had also booked his first trip to Las Vegas with a few close friends. Supporting him in this fundraiser will not only help with basic living needs, but we’re also hoping to allow him the means to enjoy simple pleasures, new trips, and maximize his time with family and friends.
