Care for Kati

On an usually cold night in a small town in Montana, my mom almost died from severe frost bite and hypothermia. It was around 7 O’clock at night when my mom took her puppy on a  run to tire him out. She drove a couple miles away letting her dog chase behind her car, until she saw a large herd of elk crossing the snowy roads.  She stopped her car allowing the elk to cross before proceeding to drive. In doing so her car battery died and would not start back up again. In the meantime her puppy, Zen, ran off after the elk. My mom got out of the car and started calling him to come back. However at temperatures bearing negative 27, it wasn’t long until hyperthermia started to set in. The next morning she was found frozen, barely breathing, and kneeling in a prayer position. Her neighbor rushed her to the closest clinic which was an hour away. From there she was transported to a Hospital in Billings, the best hospital in the state of Montana. She was there for about 2 weeks until she started to develop gangrene. Which then she was airlifted to The University Of Colorado Hospital ICU Burn Center. She is getting the best medical care here. The ICU Burn center in Colorado helped saved my moms life from not only death by infection but also most of her limbs from amputation, unfortunately not all.

It truly is a miracle my mom is alive today seeing as though her core temperature was 77 degrees when she was found. She has been and still is in excruciating pain. My heart breaks for her because it’s so hard to see the mother who raised me and gave me life is suffering with burns so brutal most people would rather die than to go through. I would do anything for my mom because I know she would do anything for me. With that being said I'm sure most of you know how expensive medical care is. My moms insurance isn't going to cover all of her medical bills. Nor does she have a way to get back home from Colorado to Montana. This is why I'm making this page without her knowledge. My mom has so much pride and would never ask a cent from anyone. She's the type of person who will literally give you the shirt off her back and not ask for anything in return. However I know my mother would benefit from any type of donation towards this most painful time in her life. I am beyond blessed God did not take my mom from me and my family. Any type of donation will help tremendously you guys have no clue. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and help support my mom.
