Peru Mission

In a remote area, in the jungle of Peru, there is a church of passionate believers. They do not have the luxury of formal Bible training, nor the means to obtain it. They are impoverished beyond what most of us are willing to admit even exists.

They have reached out for help. Not for what you might think. They are not asking for new housing, health care, food, water, or clothing; although they desperately need all of these things. The only thing they are desperately asking for help with, is to build a church. They want a place where they can safely meet. They want to be able to invite their friends and families. Something we all take for granted, is not possible for them at this point.

They also want more training. They want to know the Truth of Jesus Christ and His word. With no churches or pastors, they have never had the to enjoy any kind of training in the Bible or Christian practices. 

This group of belivers has been visited for several years, every summer, by a group of SBU students. My best friend Sarah, led a trip this summer and at the end the Peruvians asked her to please return with a team to help them.

I have been blessed to sit under wonderfully sound Biblical teaching, and it would be my honor to help build not only the foundation of a church, but the foundation of Biblical truths for Peruvian believers.

So in January, we will be heading to the jungle for a month, where there are more mosquitos than people. We will bathe in alligator and pihrannah infested waters, sleep in nets to avoid bats, and will use macheties to chop through jungle growth.

We will play soccer, build a church, evangelize, eat with families, hug children, speak broken Spanish, and rely on God as we help a struggling but determined church in Peru.

This is where I ask for your help. We will need committed prayer partners to be praying for us as we prepare, as we minister in Peru, and as we readjust to American life.

We also need financial partners. The trip will be around $2,200. This $2,200 will pay for building supplies, a plane ticket, food and lodging while we are there, and a fee to the organizers of the trip.

This will NOT be a lavish trip by any stretch of the imagination. Your donation will not be wasted or exploited in any way.

I also do not want you feel like you must give. You certainly do not have to, nor do I expect everyone I contact to donate! God loves a cheerful giver, and He can provide $2,200 anyway he chooses. What I covet more, and I say this with complete honesty, are your prayers and support.
