Emily Hall's Medical Fund

Donation protected
In January 2015, Emily was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Severe Aplastic Anemia - which is bone marrow failure. In February 2015, she had a bone marrow transplant. Her brother McCord was ecstatic about being her donor.

Since transplant, Emily has had a continuous uphill battle to recover and keep the graft of her brother.

Unfortunately, Emily’s transplant has failed. In November 2017, her blood levels finally reached critical levels. She is transfusion dependent and has since been in and out of the hospital. Blood products keep her alive until she can receive another transplant.

All the while, Emily is consistently a pillar of sunshine to all those who come in contact with her. Her personality can be summed up by her blood type – B+. Emily and her family, realizing they can’t control her health, have committed to making an impact by focusing on living the maxim “Have courage and be kind.” Emily’s mom, Cyndi has taught her children to enjoy the rain and live life to its fullest.

Cyndi has been successfully attending college full-time since shortly after being separated from Emily’s dad. Cyndi is a dedicated mother who keeps her focus on her children even while maintaining exceptional academic progress. Her inspiring story was featured in a Utah Education Network interview:

Emily and her 5 siblings are extremely close. Cyndi’s children are 6 of the most incredible, kind, thoughtful, brilliant children one can meet. Clearly, she is doing something right and this is evident by the profound love and respect Cyndi and her kids have for one another. Emily’s brother Mikey, whom she adores, is attending USU.

In spite of Cyndi and Emily’s extremely independent and positive attitude, there are simply times in our lives when we all need help. Right now is one of those times for their family. They are and will continue to be faced with many unexpected expenses related to this situation. Despite the difficult road that Emily and her family continue to endure, Emily continues to smile and all who love and know her feel inspired by her zest and ability to cope in such a positive way. As we have rallied around to lend our love and support we are continually uplifted by our interactions with this family.

Serena Buss, who lives with and helps care for Emily and her family, is listed as the beneficiary for Emily.  Serena is withdrawing funds in her name and will physically deliver the funds to Emily's mother, Cyndi.

Please join us in support of Emily and help us give her a way to continue smiling!
