After a grueling and exhausting battle with an unknown disease, sweet Ember Figueroa has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Ember developed a cough during the third trimester of her second pregnancy and after giving birth to a gorgeous, healthy baby girl, Ember's illness progressed. On July 25th, Ember was rushed into surgery and miraculously survived. Specialists from around the country tried to find answers to explain the grapefruit-sized, inoperable mass that entangled her heart and put pressure on her lungs, but they were not victorious. God gave her four precious months to be an incredible wife to Jon, a doting mother to 2 year old Ryker and newborn Elena and a loving sister, daughter and friend.
Last week, Ember's doctor decided that they should pursue agressive chemotherapy. The chemo was slated to begin this coming Tuesday. In the meantime, Ember was home, surrounded by her family and enjoyed Thanksgiving feeling better than usual. After a holiday filled with joy and loved ones, Ember went to sleep and peacefully left this world to enter into paradise.
As friends of Ember and Jon, we are asking first and foremost for your prayers for this family as they grieve their tremendous loss. The responsibility of caring for two young children is a lofty one and we would like Jon to have the freedom to focus on this without the weight of medical bills on his shoulders. Currently, they have an upward of $200,000 in medical expenses for the care Ember has received over the last few months. Please prayerfully consider helping this family.
