Funds for Riaans surgery. I

Hello everyone, Riaan is my son in law married to my daughter Yolanda. On Friday Riaan and my husband Warren were involved in a hit and run accident in Las Terrenas. Warren is fine however Riaan is quite badly injured and is currently in the government hospital. He has multiple broken ribs, badly fractured collar bone and other injuries. He needs surgery to repair the collar bone and fit a titanium plate. Unfortunately currently they do not have any insurance. There is also no space in any other government hospital for them to receive him for surgery or care. The orthopedic surgeon has told us he needs the surgery right away otherwise he could loose some use of his arm. The funds are needed to pay for his surgery and related expenses which can then be done in a small private clinic in a different town here in the Dominican. The cost of the surgery is US$2000 plus additional costs for titanium plate, medications and travel. The amount asked for in this fundraiser is in Canadian dollars hence why $3500 has been requested. Should any funds collected be in excess of what is needed it will be donated to Samana Smiles Foundation which is an organization in Las Terrenas which raises money to assist sick children.
