Funds for Baby Elliot + Family

Fundraiser Purpose
This fundraiser is for Baby Elliot and her family. Funds will be used to cover NICU medical expenses as well as incidental expenses for her family. Incidental expenses may include income lost from time off work, travel costs to/from the hospital, food/lodging while staying in Mobile, and any other expenses that the family incurs. We will leave it to the family to determine what they need most from the funds raised. 

The average NICU stay is about $3,000 per day. The fundraiser goal of $10,000 is just a small portion of funds that may be needed depending on how long Baby Elliot is in need of NICU care. 

Baby Elliot's Story
Baby Elliot was born on August 22nd after a very long, strenuous labor that resulted in a c section. Shortly after birth, baby Elliot began having complications. While feeding, she stopped breathing and turned blue.  She was taken into the nursery and put on oxygen to be monitored for the evening.  Within 2 hours she had had 3 seizure episodes, 2 of which she stopped breathing. 

The doctors decided it would be best to send Baby Elliot to the NICU at Women’s and Children’s in Mobile, AL. Throughout the night she had several more seizures (about 1 every 1.5 hours), most of which she stopped breathing completely. 

Since she has been transferred to the NICU, she was monitored for 24 hours on an eeg without the seizure medicine. The results came back that Baby Elliot was having continuous non-clinical seizures all night long. She also had a brain ultrasound and it showed she had a brain hemorrhage.   

They took her in for an MRI but we will not have the results of that until Monday. Please pray specifically for her MRI results to come back normal and for her to be able to come off all seizure medication without any repercussions.

Note from the family
We are accepting visitors in the NICU waiting room, just show up. We have not been keeping our phones on us due to finally getting the chance to hold our little girl. We love you all and are thankful for each and every prayer. So very thankful a room opened up and we are able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House here by the hospital. Makes our mommy and daddy guilt for leaving just a little bit better!
