FUNDS & FAITH for the Duncan family
We are seeking your financial generosity and faithful prayers for The Duncan Family of Montgomery, Alabama / Gerald, Ashley and their son Hunter. Around Valentine's Day, we received word that our friend Gerald Duncan collapsed in his kitchen and was immediately helped up and out of the house by his wife to meet the ambulance that transported him to the hospital. Ashley is known by me and many others to be, well, basically like a rock for Gerald, Hunter, family, friends, her employer, the community, teaching dance, her wellness business, marching band, school events, country music and supporting their son's future endeavors... It did not surprise me how fast she got him to the hospital and how she has remained by his side ever since. I realized that ALL of that living and giving of her time came to a complete standstill the moment the love of her life was in trouble. I also know that the very first thing Ashley did was pray. She is full of faith.
Gerald called us the other day and that was such a blessing to hear his voice and know that God is working on his healing. The words that came out of his mouth were not the usual and what we were accustomed to. You see Gerald has this incredible sense of humor! He can make you laugh so hard that you can't stop. One of those people who have you rolling and crying with laughter. He's one of those friends that will help you move and take the long trip back and forth from Nashville keeping his family on hold for 3 days so that he could help us. He will put up with no heat, cold pizza, and a sleepless night of packing and unpacking In bulky winter gear to stay warm. Ultimately Gerald will sacrifice his own time and comfort to make sure that you are helped, safe and sound. That's Gerald Duncan and I'm sure that my little humble story is nothing compared to the ones others may have. So when Gerald called us and said that he was worried about his family after receiving his diagnosis of cancer and specifically "Geoblastoma" that's all he needed to say.

So I am here to ask for help for a family who truly could use it. I'm seeking $36,000+ so that Gerald can be healed and his family can be relieved of the financial burdens that now are staring them in the face. It's scary, it's ugly, and it's a mess...but this family can handle this test. They have more than the faith of a mustard seed and they lay it all out in front of the Lord. That is their greatest power and defense.
By the way, let me tell you about their son Hunter. He is an only child but far from lonely. He is very close to his parents and has grown up to be quite a gentleman. He has many friends young and old, and some are even famous. He is extremely talented and a fine young musician. Your funds and faith are truly appreciated and will help alleviate the worry that a young man may not talk about. Some of his friends are like brothers and sisters and love Gerald and Ashley like second parents. We don't want them to be worried either.
For the record and as many of you know, Gerald has held a very prestigious and successful job most of his life. Therefore he was able to set his family up on a firm foundation. Ashley has also accomplished many impressive things with her career. So what I'm saying is that this is nothing that under normal circumstances Gerald could not handle. These two superhumans were married very young and prepared themselves for whatever life might throw their way. Except... For this.
Nobody is ever prepared fully for what this family and many other families in the world, unfortunately, have to accept, acknowledge, and prepare to overcome.
Respectfully, I am asking for you to consider giving as little or as much as you possibly can. The Duncan's will temporarily be moving away from their hometown of Montgomery, Alabama to be closer to the hospital in Birmingham where Gerald will be receiving treatment. They have entrusted some very reputable medical professionals with his radiation and chemotherapy plan of action. They made this choice knowing the seriousness of the situation and putting together a plan that gives him the best chance not only at survival but a full remission and recovery.
Simply put...we want Gerald to be free of worry and free of cancer! We want him to be covered in the knowledge that he is being prayed for and his family is safe and secure both spiritually and financially.
Knowing Gerald, Ashley, and Hunter Duncan has blessed us in countless ways. We hope that by you giving and helping along with us...that you will be abundantly blessed too.
Thank you.
