The goal of this GoFundMe me page is to raise funds for Jennifer Walsh’s medical expenses and rehabilitation.
On the 20th of November, a fundraising marathon walk of 26.5 miles from North Berwick to Edinburgh is taking place. We would encourage anyone reading this to join us and help Jennifer and her family. This GoFundMe page will be used for each individual participating in the walk to do their own fundraising. You can participate in the walk-in full, in part, or simply as a supporter of the event. If you are interested in participating, please join our Facebook group through the link at the bottom of this page. All details of the walk, meeting points, timings, and support details will be available on the Facebook page. The full walk will take around 8 hours, but participants and supporters can select their own distance and timing to suit their preference.
All funds raised will go directly to financially supporting Jennifer Walsh and her family. For those who do not know, Jennifer (22 from Edinburgh) was recently on holiday in Croatia. On October 2nd, days before coming back to Edinburgh, Jennifer fell from a balcony and was rushed to hospital. Due to the fall, Jennifer instantly fell into a coma. The fall impacted Jennifer’s body so badly that it left her with a bleed in the brain, multiple skull fractures, a broken collarbone, a punctured lung, all ribs on her left side broken, and a fractured wrist. When she arrived at the hospital doctors performed brain surgery to save her life.
Since the accident, Jennifer has made an incredible recovery. Thankfully, she is out of her coma and back in Edinburgh with doctor’s hopeful she will make a full recovery.
Jennifer had no insurance for the trip and consequently, she and her family are faced with the huge cost of medical bills and many other disbursements.
Jennifer is an amazing person and worthy of our support through this event. Everything we raise will go directly to Jennifer to help her recovery and pay the medical expenses accumulated to date. If roles were reversed Jennifer would be the first hand up to volunteer to help any of us!
We would encourage anyone reading this to join us at North Berwick or along the way, whether you walk, run, cycle, swim, watch it whatever floats your boat. Please join the Facebook group via this link: (insert link when Facebook group created) to join us in helping Jen. Any participation and donations are massively appreciated.
