Fundraising for our local Hospices

Donation protected

Now entering our 5th year of supporting a local cause or charity of the year, our aim is to continue to support and highlight the work charities do so selflessly. For 2021 our focus is on the two main hospices in our towns, St Wilfrid's Hospice and St Michael's Hospice .

St Wilfrid's Hospice...

Situated just off Cross Levels Way in Eastbourne, the St Wilfrid's Hospice site includes a smart 20-bed Inpatient Unit which transforms end of life care for the people of Eastbourne, Hailsham, Uckfield, Heathfield and all points in between, serving a population of approximately 235,000 covering an area of around 300 square miles. Expert teams work to help people to live well until the end of their lives and to support their family and friends. The Hospice also provides care through its Wellbeing service and increasingly, to families in their own homes. A charity that relies on voluntary gifts to support over 70% of it's vital work, it costs just over £15,000 a day to provide care and support services .

St Michael's Hospice...

Since opening in 1987, St Michaels Hospice has cared for more than 12,500 people with life-limiting illnesses throughout Hastings and Rother, through a number of different services. Following the same values as St Wilfrid's, the Hospice aims to promote flexibility and choice for individuals and families at a worrying time. The cost of running the Hospice and providing the full range of services to its patients is over £6 million a year. With around one third of this being provided by the NHS the Hospice needs to raise the balance, circa £4.3 million, over £12,000 per day, from voluntary sources.

Gaby Hardwicke Charity Office Marathon Relay...

On September 11th, members of Gaby Hardwicke will run or cycle a combined distance of 52 miles, the equivalent of two marathons,  to raise funds for the Hospices.

Starting at the firm’s Hailsham office, team members will make their way along the cuckoo trail, passing the baton along the way to the Eastbourne office. They will then navigate along the coast through Pevensey, Normans Bay and Cooden before reaching the Bexhill office. The next stretch will take them along the seafront to the firm's Hastings office in Wellington Square before turning around for the return journey back to Hailsham. Stop offs are planned at St Wilfrid’s and St Michael’s along the way.

With the pandemic dramatically impacting fundraising events this year, the hospices need help more than ever and we would be grateful for donations to these wonderful Charities.

Thank you.
