Fundraising for Phi Gamma Delta's Grand Prix Team

Donation protected
Thank you for finding your way to the Fiji Racing GoFundMe page. We thank you all for everything you have done and continue to do for this great fraternity!

The Purdue Grand Prix is a very competitive kart race utilizing race karts that are capable of 80+ miles per hour and sit ½ inch off the ground!  It is the biggest event on the Purdue social calendar each year where competing teams from other fraternities and other student organizations, since 1958, battle to be on the podium at the end of this historic race.  To learn more, visit www.purduegrandprix.org.

The lambda Iota chapter of Phi Gamma Delta has had periods in history where they maintained a strong presence in the event and were very competitive.  However, the fraternity has not fielded an entry since 2004.  The 65th Purdue Grand Prix being held in the spring of 2022, FIJI’s will be back after 18 years away, and with a chance at victory unlike any in the history of the fraternity.   The lambda Iota chapter of Phi Gamma Delta pledged a young man named Caden Taylor, Class of 2025, that has been racing karts competitively since he was 11 years old.  He has a history of consistently beating top competitors in this years Grand Prix including previous winners.  With racing, anything can happen, but recent race results from other race series shows that Fiji’s have one of the strongest chances at bringing home the coveted winners trophy, a first ever for the fraternity.

Given the fraternity has not fielded an entry since 2004, there is much to buy this year on top of all the normal racing costs.  Our goal for 2022 is to raise $20,000, and that will cover the purchase of the race kart and engines as well as the many other items like spare parts, tires, engine rebuilds, tools, fuel, trailer, crew uniforms, and more.

In addition to grassroots fund raising, we also have major and title sponsor packages available.   Act soon so we can ensure logos make the race team jerseys and social favors along with a spot on the kart.    Reach out to Ethan Wertz at e wertz at purdue dot edu for more information.

We look forward to this great opportunity and to make memories and relationships that are not for college days alone!
