Hello all! My name is Saira Erfan, and I've been acting since 4th grade in many community theatre productions and have been in love with it ever since! I have previously been apart of a company for community theatre for nearly 5 years, but recently, I realized how important it is to me, and I've decided to take it more seriously. I have been working with multiple companies, as well as having lots of help with my craft, and I am learning so much about myself as an actress.
This summer, I will be making my Off-Broadway debut in New York City, as part of the National Theatre For Student Artists (NTSA), a nationally recognized youth theatre in the United States. I'm one of the youngest representatives chosen from my city, and if I'm able to go, I can finally make my dream of performing in New York a reality in the production of the play Rebel Girls.
I will be using this experience for many future auditions I have planned after NTSA, as well as joining other companies in the fall. I really have my heart set on trying out for the San Francisco Playhouse next season, and maybe even trying out more screen acting. This experience will also give me extra help on effectively delivering monologues and seeing what it is like to perform in an Off-Broadway production.
However, I will need some help- I will be trying to raise the money needed to attend NTSA this summer; it lasts for three weeks, and I'll be preparing and rehearsing in the studio with NYC theatre professionals for this production. I will need $5,895 to pay off my course fee; which includes the tuition, housing, and transportation. My beneficiary will my mother, Roya. She is going to help with my fundraising as well as hosting events to get to my goal. Every donation will go towards my course fee, and if I raise any extra, I might be able to go to one of the mid-week trips to the Shaw Festival, held in Southern Ontario, and be able to work with some of the professionals there!
Even if you can't give financially, that's completely fine. I'd be immensely grateful if you can just tell your friends about this campaign, and share it. And I will be so thankful if you can just hope that I'll be able to pay off this tuition, give an amazing performance, and expand my knowledge, and skills, on becoming an actress!
