<div>Hi! My name is Holls, I have been with Max since January 2018 and we have been married since October 2022. Most of you will know my partner as eccentric, fun, a very bendy bassist and a overall good hearted, amazing human. 
</div>

<div>Max is a trans man and he uses so much of his spare time to advocate for underrepresented people, this includes co-organizing events such as a recent Non-Binary Visibility Day gig and he runs his own Non-profit DJ mix series dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive platform and focusses on sharing work from BIPOC/Women/Non-Binary/Trans +/ Queer artists.

<div>Alongside all of this, Myself and Max are dedicated NHS Workers, we have both worked in Healthcare in the NHS for 5 + years as healthcare assistants. 
</div>
<div>However, no one goes into the healthcare industry for the money, as there really isn't any. Myself and Max are always desperately trying to put money back to go towards his medical transition, however when on minimum wage in a cost of living crisis; something always comes up and we end up digging into those savings to pay a different bill. 
</div>
<div>Max is on a waiting list for an NHS Gender Identity Clinic, however, the wait is so long that Max could be in his early 40s by the time he receives a first appointment - he's been patient enough already and I do not want to see my partner living in torment for that long, I want him to enjoy his life and not begin to resent it because he cannot receive the gender affirming care he needs.

<div>Max is aware that fundraising will be necessary in order for him to receive private gender care, we have made all the right steps. We met a Transgender-friendly GP and Max switched over to that GP service, we've trawled the web researching the best places to receive private gender care - Max is fully prepared and ready to start his transition and it is such a shame that currently the only thing stopping him is money. Max isn't always the best with admin, handling funds or asking for mutual aid when it comes to himself, so that is why I have stepped in to help him get the most difficult parts done and give him a surprise whilst I am at it!

<div>Hi, my name is Max and I am 26 years old, I am a trans man living in Plymouth with my married partner, Holls. I am an events organizer, NHS worker, activist and performer. I have dedicated the last several years of my life to community projects, human rights activism and musical projects both in Plymouth and surrounding areas but this time, it is me that needs help. I never thought I would be left in a position where I have to reach out to the community for help, but my access to the life-saving gender affirming care is locked behind a pay wall that I cannot afford. Due to NHS waiting lists I would be in my late 30s or early 40s by the time I receive my first appointment, so many of us are in this position and I am always sharing and giving to other fundraisers, now I know it is time for me to share my own. Gender affirming care would be truly life saving for me, it would give me the confidence and power to live my life freely as myself and be comfortable in my own skin without the constant burden of gender dysphoria. I want to be in the best state physically and mentally to receive this treatment which is why starting at the age I am now is optimum - but myself and my partner live paycheck to paycheck and with the rising cost of living we just don't have the facilities to put much money back to go towards my private gender affirming care.

<div>I am exceptionally grateful for anyone who has taken time to read this, and to anyone who has shared or donated. I want to make it known that when I finally access gender affirming care, I will continue to give back to the community in any way I can through activism and mutual aid.
