<div>My name is Lisa Rex and my sister-in-law, <strong>Kristen Kobyluck, is facing a battle no one ever wants to face.</strong> What started off as a routine mammogram quickly turned into two separate cancer diagnoses.

<div>Kristen went for her yearly mammogram and something wasn’t right. She then had a biopsy done and she received the call that it was cancer, stage 1 lobular carcinoma. Surgery was scheduled and treatment options were given. She underwent a lumpectomy that was successful and we were thanking God. That happiness was short-lived as they saw a suspicious spot on her liver while viewing the breast CT scans. We were told it’s probably nothing, but an MRI would confirm. After a few days of anxiously waiting, she received the news that it was cancer and it was originating from her colon. <strong>Stage 4 colorectal cancer that has metastasized to the liver.</strong> To say we were devastated is an understatement! How is a healthy 42-year-old woman facing two separate cancer diagnoses? Even the doctors are surprised as this is extremely rare.

<div>Kristen’s oncologist is tackling these cancers hard and strong. Two targeted therapies for the breast cancer and two different types of chemotherapy. After the chemo, surgery is likely the next step, followed by possibly more chemo and radiation.

<div>As you can imagine, times are very stressful for this sweet family. Kristen and her husband Chad have four beautiful daughters and a sweet new granddaughter. What’s supposed to be a time to enjoy life, the days are often spent worrying about bills and medical care not covered by insurance. As time goes on, the stress becomes more.
