Fundraising for Horses & Multiple Sclerosis

Hi, my name is Debbie and I am skydiving out of a plane from 10,000 feet on the 8th May 2022 to raise money for two charities close to my life.

In 2020 during the pandemic I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At that point I made a pact with myself that I would fight this horrible chronic illness and fullfill a life long goal of jumping out of a plane, even though I am stupidly scared of heights.

My fundraising Skydive is going to help me raise money for the Devon Horse and Pony Sanctuary and the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. DHAPS is a charity that I have been a part of for most of my life. This charity takes in equines of all different sizes and backgrounds but the biggest residents are our retired Police Horses. These beautiful loyal horses have been on the frontline for our country and are Heroes that deserve the best in retirement at our sanctuary.

All our horses require daily care, feed, hay, vet bills etc…the list goes on and on. They are a big part of my life and I have loved caring for them over the years but since my diagnosis I have found that they are the best therapy when life becomes tough and overwhelming. They are the best remedy and just a horsey hug can make things seem a little less frightening for the daily struggles with MS.

The Multiple Sclerosis trust with no government or NHS funding has only donations to help give the 130,000 people living with MS in the UK the access to more MS specialists. Your sponsorship for me will help provide this vital support across the UK.
