My name is Kelly, and I'm raising money for my godson, Bobby, and his family as he recovers from a second liver transplant.
Bobby was born with Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease where bile ducts are blocked or missing, leading to liver damage. Shortly after birth, he underwent the Kasai procedure and has faced numerous hospital visits, tests, and procedures. In February 2024, at age 10, Bobby received his first liver transplant after a long wait for a suitable donor. Unfortunately, the liver has been rejecting, requiring him to be placed back on the transplant list. He has recently received a second liver transplant.
Bobby's parents, Kelly and Danny, are incredibly devoted and have been by his side through countless hospital visits, tests, and procedures while also caring for their younger son, Archie. The ongoing medical challenges have placed a significant strain, stress, and worry on the entire family as they continue to manage financial responsibilities while ensuring Bobby receives the best possible care.
To help alleviate some of the financial burden on Bobby's family and allow them to focus on his recovery, we are raising funds to support them during this challenging time. Your generous contributions will help cover their day to day expenses, travel costs, and other unforeseen needs. All funds raised will go directly to Bobby's family.
To raise awareness of Bobby's journey, his condition, and the importance of organ donation, I will be 'Running for Bobby' in a number of races between now and November. Your support, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in Bobby's and his family's lives.
Thank you for taking the time to read Bobby's story and for your generosity.
