Thank you to everyone who has helped by buying lunch plates and donating at the same time as well. We raised almost $800 overall! I recently shared to my dad about how we've been trying to help him raise a few extra money for his travel and surgery. After I had told him how much we raised from the lunch plates he was really happy. But after I had told him we actually raised a lot more than that with the website he had no idea about.. his expression was just so priceless. In a very relieving way.
For the passed weeks, he's just been stressing about money on how he's gonna do this and that. So after hearing about the website, you can see a whole weight lifted right off of his shoulders. He was just so so very happy. Even though we might not reach our goal anytime soon, his reaction was more than enough for me to see instead of just watching him stress over something he thought he's been alone on.
He asked that we share this again by expressing how thankful he is for every ones kind donations and help. He couldn't be any more grateful for something this amazing to happen. So again, thank you so much to everyone - for everything.

So here is an update. My dad has decided to follow through by going to where his doctor recommended him to go: Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in California. He will be leaving on September 30th.
We kindly ask everyone who sees our dad often to please not stress him about his Brain Tumor.
To everyone who has kindly made their donations or simply has just even shared this.. it's been amazing to see the amount that has been built since we started sharing our father's news. For that, we are so very grateful for all of your support. Until our father leaves, this site will remain up for donations until September 25th.

Rogel Paran has always been a hardworking man. Day and night - trying to be both mother and father to his three sons and only daughter, he's been the only parent we've had while growing up since the day our mother has been sent off to the Philippines.
As much as many people have wanted to help, our father has always considered doing things on his own. Believe me when I say, "For an old man - he is such a trooper." He's always been ashamed to ask for any help until he felt like he needed it the most. Its always been an issue with money since he lost so much of it from a family betrayal incident. But for many, many, MANY stressful years dealing with everything on his own - he's still the MOST compassionate, generous, loving man everyone knows. Personally, throughout my years, everyone has always shown so much love for him. I only hear amazing stories about him (Like the days he was just a little boy cleaning shoes in the Philippines.) All he ever does is just give and take care of others. Especially his children. So now it's our turn to give back.
Recently, we found out he has a brain tumor. (He currently lost his sense of smell) Which of course requires surgery immediately. We live on Guam, so not much recommended places are here. He was recommended to go California instead. But due to our budget, the least we can afford is the Philippines. We want our father to live many more years - to meet his first grandson, finally go on a vacation to the Philippines at Baguio (his hometown). To finally relax at home watching his TV shows like the lazy old man he truly wants to be.. because he deserves that.
With so much going on, we have set up this site to raise the money for his flight, surgery, and future treatments. Your donations or even just spreading the word.. are greatly appreciated.
