Fundraiser for Ziggy’s Tumor Removal
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
This is our Ziggy boy; my husband and I rescued him recently in January when he was just 12 weeks old. We knew taking in a 3rd dog would be a lot, but he needed a good home and figured it would be good for our middle dog Roscoe to have a buddy as our eldest dog Marley ages. Right off the bat we noticed a lump in Ziggy’s belly that did not end up going away, so we took him for X-rays and an ultrasound. The imaging showed a tumor attached to his pancreas that needed to be removed promptly. We made an appointment for a consult with Cornell and they took him in the same day for surgery. The tumor ended up being attached to his pancreas and round ligament (umbilical remnants) and was quite massive (softball size). It was sent out to pathology and thankfully found to be non-cancerous. Without this surgery, the tumor would have continued to grow and cause life threatening complications for our boy. We of course had already fallen in love with him and couldn’t imagine not providing this life saving surgery for him. After vet visit upon vet visit, X-rays, ultrasounds, a CT scan, and a consultation with Cornell, let alone the surgery itself, we have racked up quite a hefty bill over $8k. My husband Alex and I are humbly requesting any financial assistance to help with the costs of these bills in hopes to ease the burden a little. It has taken everything in me to make this GoFundMe because I truly hate having to ask for help. Thank you for taking the time to read this, it is appreciated more than you know. If you are unable to donate, we are asking that you please feel free to share♥️
