My mother was a strong woman.  She lived years longer than any of the doctors predicted.  She had plans for her life, her future and the future of her family.  She did not want to let go of all the wonderful things that were ahead of her.  But after 7 years of fighting cancer, she was called to a different path.

Three weeks before she passed, we made a family trip (photo above) to the ocean.  We went up the NH and ME coastline, saw the Nubble and made a few stops along the way at some of her favorite places for her family to enjoy.  It was a gift to all of us and it was a healing moment for her.  This memory is one we can treasure forever.  It was her last harrah and brought her incredible joy.

She loved being a mother.  She taught me to be strong and independant like she is.  She taught me to be sensitive to others and show empathy in all situations. She taught me how to march to the beat of my own drum, that being different is something to embrace.

She was overjoyed to be a grandmother and loved her two grandchildren, Noelle and Evan, with all her heart.  Seeing them grow was one of the biggest reasons she fought so hard. Everything they did brought her incredible joy and she didn't want to miss a moment.

In the end my mom lived a very simple life.  I am hoping to gather donations to help pay for her cremation.  What she wanted most was to have her ashes spread at sea.  I am looking to raise the money to make that happen.  The sea was where she found peace and restored her soul.  It is only fitting that the sea is where she rests.
