Fundraiser For Priscilla's Cancer Treatment
Hi! I’m Priscilla and I was diagnosed with cancer in mid April of 2021. I first noticed something was wrong around the time of my 21st birthday. The smallest things would make me out of breath, to the point where walking became difficult. I went to my PCP and nothing was done. Later that week I fainted at work and was rushed to the hospital. It was leukemia. Although it was a scary diagnosis, the support and love from those around me made me strong enough to push through all the poking and prodding. Now, I’m an outpatient receiving the necessary treatment for my ultimate recovery. The overall plan will be to receive chemotherapy for the next two to three years. The first year has been most intense because I had infused chemos 1-4 days out of the week. For the year and a half after, the schedule is more spaced out.
As the bills begun piling up, I have decided to create this GoFundMe to relieve the financial stress on my family. Any leftover funds will be donated to Atlanta Bolos and Alex’s Place (50/50 split). Atlanta Bolos are a team of women who bake and sell cakes. Their proceeds go to women battling cancer who unfortunately do not have insurance to help them cover some of the extensive costs of treatment. Alex’s Place is Jackson Memorial Hospital’s clinic for childhood cancer and blood disorders. This is where I’ve been receiving most of my treatment and am always given the best care.
Donation breakdown: estimated two year treatment costs $100k + any additional donations will be split between Atlanta Bolos and Alex’s Place.
Oi! Meu nome é Priscilla e eu fui diagnosticada com câncer no meio de abril de 2021. Percebi que algo estava errado na época do meu aniversário de 21 anos. Qualquer esforço pequeno fazia com que eu ficasse ofegante, uma simples caminhada se tornou difícil para mim. Fui ao médico mas não consegui nenhum feedback. Naquela mesma semana, eu desmaiei no trabalho e fui levada ao hospital. Descobrimos que tenho leucemia. Apesar de ser um diagnostico assustador, o apoio e amor que eu tenho recebido de todos tem me fortalecido para enfrentar essa batalha. Nesse momento, iniciei o tratamento para combater a doença. O plano é receber quimioterapia nos próximos dois aos. Os primeiros seis meses serão muito intensos pois terei que receber a quimio 1-4 dias da semana. Para o outro ano e meio o tratamento sera mais espaçado.
Como esse tratamento será bastante caro, eu resolvi criar esse GoFundMe para aliviar o stress financeiro da minha família. O que sobrar de arrecadações sera doado para Atlanta Bolos e Alex’s Place, 50/50. Atlanta Bolos é um grupo de mulheres que fazem bolos para vender e arrecadar fundos para mulheres enfrentando câncer que não tem seguro saúde para ajudar com os custos de seus tratamentos. Alex’s Place é a clinica de câncer e doença do sangue infantil- é onde estou me tratando e tenho sido muito bem cuidada.
