Fundraiser for multiple myeloma
This is a long status but bare with me !
*Multiple myeloma
33 years ago, my grandad Bobby lloyd passed away after being one of the first people in the country to be diagnosed with this horrible cruel cancer. 3 years ago my uncle Robert lloyd passed away after being diagnosed with the same rare cancer, and then a little over 6 months ago my world fell apart, after my beautiful mum passed away after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma as well. It’s a horrible illness and it has ripped the hearts out of our family. At the moment there is no cure for this cancer, there are various treatments but no cure. After mum passed away I have found myself in the worst possible place in my head, but iv tried my best to keep busy, working, spending time with Theresa and the kids, and gradually I started getting back into the gym. I found this to be my best medicine. Whilst in the boxing gym I thought it would be a good idea to maybe have a couple of contests again (even though I’m 40, and feel everyday of it ) and use the contests as a way of raising money for multiple myeloma and the research into it and then hopefully one day finding the cure. I figured it would give me focus and give me something to train for in memory of my grandad, uncle and my beautiful mum. Boxing is a big part of my family’s history, (although my mum hated me doing it promise there will be no more after these two mum )So on the 21st august I will be fighting on my friend, Ryan macs show, in glan Conwy and then in September I’m hoping to fight again on another good friend of mine show in the kinmel manor. Every penny I make from ticket sales will go to multiple myeloma research, and on the night there will be a fundraiser going on too to try and raise as much as we can. Give me a shout if you would like to contribute to this cause that is close to all of my family’s heart. Tickets will be available next week.
