Fundraiser for Kyle Tortola

Hello world.
I’d like to spread the word on a very loved and important person to many people, myself included. On November 9th, 2017 Kyle Tortola, at the young age of 28, was diagnosed following a lung biopsy with a very rare disease - Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He now requires a double lung transplant to save his life. He is currently in the late stages of this disease and is waiting for a donor while staying in the Toronto General Hospital. He was airlifted there this past Tuesday and is staying there until the transplant. His current health status is very poor. He needs to be on oxygen at all times, he has an air leak in his left lung which requires a chest tube. He has been bed bound for weeks, unable to even sit up on his own. The Toronto Transplant Team is working hard to get Kyle to where he needs to be. Shoutout to the nurses and doctors at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus for their undying care and compassion these past 6 weeks.
Now, we could be waiting weeks or we could be waiting for up to a year for a donor. Meanwhile, Kyle and his family need to stay by his side in Toronto until the transplant and 3 months post transplant for recovery. He will need anti rejection medication for the rest of his life which costs up to $2000 or more a month. Our government can only help them so much with the very costly expenses following a transplant.
I am holding a fundraiser for the Tortola family on Sunday February 11th, 2018 at the Moose Lodge (777 Tecumseh rd W) from 3-7pm. If you'd like to join us at the fundraiser, there will be an event page posted on facebook with all of the information you'll need. If you know anyone who would be willing to donate prizes for the fundraiser please let me know!
