Fundraiser for Hugo's Local Election campaign

My name is Hugo Mills and I'm a trainee barrister living in Dun Laoghaire, where I was born and raised.

I am delighted to have been selected to contest the Local Elections in June 2024 for Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the Social Democrats.

I am running because I want to work alongside our party members and the community to deliver the future people in Ireland want, with access to vital services, safe transport options, and high-quality, affordable housing.

Like many adults in their 30s in Ireland, I am all too familiar with the frustrations of those who are locked out of home ownership or face paying exorbitant rents. While studying to be a barrister at King’s Inns during the pandemic, I had to move to Berlin because I could not afford to pay rent in Dublin. Returning home to Ireland to complete my studies will mean living in my childhood bedroom – an experience I will share with more than 500,000 adults in Ireland.

It's going to take a change of government to reverse years of failed housing policy – but I genuinely believe that the Social Democrats have the ambition and determination to achieve this.

In order to fund my local election campaign and I am raising funds and would be grateful for your support. No amount is too small.
