Fundraiser for August XR Action in Canberra

Our government is failing in its duty of care to its people and to the world. The Federal Minister for the Environment, Sussan Ley, is in the process of appealing a recent historic ruling  that she has a duty of care to ‘avoid causing personal injury or death’ to young people in relation to the carbon emissions that would arise from the expansion of a NSW coalmine.

This refusal of our Federal Government officials to accept their legally mandated obligations to the citizens of Australia only underscores the perilousness of our situation. In response, brave rebels are taking action in Canberra to highlight the toxic nature of our political and economic system and demand change.

Meanwhile the Coalition is currently deciding on the policies Australia—recently deemed by a UN report as the worst country in the world  on climate action—will bring to the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference later this year.

Now is the time to demand that the Coalition declares a climate emergency, to take its international climate obligations seriously and to protect the safety and wellbeing of its people.

The world is watching.
