Fundraiser for Al & Kara LaPlante

On November 4th, Kara LaPlante, her husband Al and his father Gerald were in a serious car accident just outside of Leask, Sk.
Kara sustained multiple fractures to her neck which resulted in a pinched spinal cord. She underwent a successful surgery on November 5th, but at this time has little to no feeling or mobility below the site of the injury. In spite of this Kara's spirits are strong, she is positive and determined to overcome these injuries, but it will be a long journey.
Thankfully, Al only received minor injuries but he will be off work for the foreseeable future while him, Kara, and their two children (aged 4 and 2) navigate through this next while and adjust to their new reality.
We are hoping to raise some funds to help make ends meet so the LaPlante family can focus all their energy on Kara's healing. Every little bit will help at least relieve a bit of their stress.
In addition an account will be set up at the Big River Credit Union and a benefit will be held in the New Year. For more information contact Elsie Hartnett or Pamela Bogner.
Gerald also sustained many broken bones and is hospitalised in Saskatoon and will be unable to work for the foreseeable future, his wife is at his side. A fund will be set up for him as well, for more information contact Pamela or Elsie or email [email redacted] .
