Fundraiser for aid to Mr. Carey P. Gilmore

My name is Carey P. Gilmore and I have fallen upon bad times. My situation is dire and I'm soon to be evicted from my home.My situation is unique because I'm a former re-entering, returning citizen from incarceration. Though my past doesn't define my present or my future it does define the wisdom and strength acquired from a lifelong battle with self-imposed afflictions caused by learned behaviours of my childhood environment.
I've did over 20 years in prison. And the most enlightening lesson I acquired from observation is that when a man walks through the doors of incarceration either of two things will happen; Either he will become a better person or he will become worse. Cut and dry. One thing is for certain, he WILL NOT be the same man. I made a conscious decision to pursue the former.
Before incarceration I had an eighth grade education and a whole heart full of accumulated ignorance absorbed by my upbringing. In prison I began a productive journey that would completely change the lost man I used to be. I got my G.E.D. and I took classes all the time gaining wisdom, knowledge and certifications that would help me with my plan of being a counselor and peer support specialist. I earned certificates in Anger Management, Substance Abuse, Rules of Right Thinking, etc. I also took college classes and graduated at the top of my class and was the valedictorian of The University of Virginia's Darden School of Business Entrepreneurs Program under the tutelage of Professor Gregory Fairchild. Because of my zeal to get better I was given a job in the prison as a Senior Coordinator of an intense therapeutic/cognitive community. There I was used to help facilitate and organize all programs for the 200 inmates. There I found my passion to help others defeat life-controlling issues.
Since I've been home I've always kept two jobs. I volunteer at the local community centers in the at risk, low income communities here in the city. At one point I was a facilitator of the Good News Ministry's reentry program and raised money for guys coming home from incarceration. I'm an active member of Believers and Achievers. I'm an upstanding member of society that is always giving my all to help others who society has casted to the wayside. Every day I attempt to construct a road that leads me to becoming a better person thus making the world a better place. My mottos is that a man must live and learn so that he may learn to live. And I tell myself everyday in a mantra.. Either you will be a part of the problem or a part of the solution. And every morning that I wake up I make a conscious decision to be a part of the solution!
I've fallen upon a troubling, hard part of my life and I need a little help to get over this hurdle. I'm very close to losing my home. I work hard and pay my bills but this month unexpected situations arised that compromised my money. I work from paycheck to paycheck and every hour I work has to be used for some form of livelihood. Please help me. Please invest in a man who has defied the odds and is making a difference in the world. Please invest in me. One thing is for certain it will get paid forward. Thanks and God bless!!
