<div>On the 20th November 2023, my two year old daughter Luci was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. We are still early days in her diagnoses and under the amazing care of the nurses and doctors at Sydney Children's Hospital. We've had an insight into how incredible our public health system can be and how much support we have received. On the flip side, we have seen (and currently experiencing) a devastating impact this diagnoses can have on innocent kids and their families. This has been the worst month of our lives and Luci has been through things you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

<div>As helpless as we feel, we wanted to start raising money for the organisations that help families directly and also help in the research and cure of Leukaemia. The main organisations we want to fundraise for is The Leukaemia Foundation (<a href="https://www.leukaemia.org.au" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.leukaemia.org.au</a>) and the Ronald McDonald House (<a href="https://www.rmhc.org.au" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.rmhc.org.au</a>).

<div>Depending on how much we raise, we can share around the donations to other organisations.

<div>Myself and my amazing best friends Steph and Janaya are going to be shaving our heads in support of Luci and to raise as much money as we can! This will be done at the blood donation day we are also organising (TBA on date). There will be t-shirts we are currently working on for sale that will go directly to this fund as well.

<div>Anything you can do to help this cause would be greatly appreciated and also coming along to her blood donation day (if you are eligible) to donate your precious life saving blood would be so appreciated by us.

<div>Em 20 de novembro de 2023, minha filha de dois anos, Luci, foi diagnosticada com leucemia linfoblástica aguda. Ainda estamos nos primeiros dias em seus diagnósticos e sob os incríveis cuidados das enfermeiras e médicos do Hospital Infantil de Sydney. Tivemos uma visão de como nosso sistema de saúde pública pode ser incrível e quanto apoio recebemos. Por outro lado, vimos (e atualmente estamos experimentando) um impacto devastador que esses diagnósticos podem ter em crianças inocentes e suas famílias. Este tem sido o pior mês de nossas vidas e Luci passou por coisas que você não desejaria ao seu pior inimigo.

<div>Por mais desamparados que nos sintamos, queríamos começar a arrecadar dinheiro para as organizações que ajudam as famílias diretamente e também ajudam na pesquisa e cura da leucemia. As principais organizações para as quais queremos arrecadar fundos são a Fundação Leukemia e a casa Ronald McDonald. Dependendo de quanto arrecadamos, podemos compartilhar as doações para outras organizações.

<div>Eu e minhas incríveis melhores amigas Steph e Janaya vamos raspar a cabeça em apoio à Luci e arrecadar o máximo de dinheiro que pudermos! Isso será feito no dia da doação de sangue que também estamos organizando (TBA na data). Haverá camisetas em que estamos trabalhando atualmente para venda que também irão diretamente para este fundo.
