 We at the West India house are holding fundraising events to raise money for a community defibrillator which will be situated at the front of the pub.

 we are hoping to raise enough for the defibrillator to sit in an old fashioned phone box in front of the pub for public use. This sort of equipment is life saving equipment and if used within the first five minutes of a cardiac arrest, the chance of survival increases by over 70%.
</div>

 Having this Defibrillator is beneficial for our community and can be used by anybody in an emergency.
</div>
<div>
 Five members of the West India staff have nominated themselves to become professional trained to use the defibrillator on site.
</div>

 MAT electrics from Exeter are donating their time and works to install the defibrillator and Somerset spray solution are donating their time to refurbish the old red telephone box where the defibrillator will sit.

 To start the fundraising we are holding an end of summer garden party at the West India house and we will continue to hold fundraisers until we reach our target.
</div>

 The cost of a defibrillator and the phone box to store it in is over £4,000. Due to the defibrillator being kept outside it needs to be kept in a safe enclosed space in a heated cabinet.
