Help Fund My Dream Study Abroad

Hi! My name is Mikayla, and it's always been a dream of mine to study abroad. The biggest obstacle to studying abroad has always been the cost. That's where this GoFundMe campaign comes in! The program I was accepted into is called Semester at Sea. It's an amazing program! Four months on a cruise ship, eleven different countries, and opportunities to grow and learn all along the way. This is the chance of a lifetime for me! I'll gain a global perspective, make unforgettable memories, and gain knowledge through hands-on field labs. This isn't just a big vacation, however, because I'll be taking 12 hours of college courses while traveling.  The program fee is $29,950. My current scholarships will follow me meaning I need to raise the difference of $19,450. The program fee includes things like my room and board, tuition, and food. My goal is to be able to raise funds to cover my program fee. I know it's a big goal, but it matches my big dream and the big opportunity that Semester at Sea is. The program fee doesn't include airfare, personal travel at ports, or meals off the ship. To cover this I'm working tirelessly at my job, filling out countless scholarship applications, and saving every chance I get. Now, as far as a time table goes, I won't be leaving to study until the Spring 2017 semester.  This means there is plenty of time to help make my dream come true! Being able to study abroad would mean the world to me. After college comes life, growing up, finding a job, settling down, etc. College is the best time to explore the world and who you are at your core. This opportunity would definitely be life changing for me. I've already overcome the first obstacle of being accepted since they only take 600 students on this voyage. That means the only thing standing in the way of me achieving my dream is the price tag. I can't even put into words how thankful Iam to everyone who helps me reach my goal, encourages me along the way, and prays for my safety while I'm traversing the world.
