Funding Short Film
Donation protected
Welcome to my fundraiser, my name is Keva Peters Jr. and I am currently a film student at the HBCU of Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. I've always cradled a passion for storytelling. In 2018, my short documentary "The Bigger Picture: African American Representation in Film" was awarded the Most Outstanding Entry from the state of Louisiana in the National History Day competition. I've also directed or contributed to commercials, music videos, and more. I am currently seeking to raise $6,500 to fund my short film. The film is dedicated to the friends and good people that I have lost due to gun violence and the misleading temptations of the streets. The film is based upon my personal life experiences. With my films, I've always wanted to give the world powerful messages and touching images that would open people's minds to new perspectives. Due to the shiesty nature of film work, I do not want to disclose any further information regarding the film beyond who it is dedicated to and my cinematic mission.
100% of the money gained from this fundraiser will go towards the film. I will not profit a single penny from this fundraiser! I am choosing to honor the life of my friend and disseminate a powerful message that I learned from the death of my friend to people in my community; whether it be St. Rose, the United States, or the world. I say that to say, if you choose to donate towards the making of this film, your donation is not for my personal profit.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. I plan on beginning the production of this short film during the Spring of 2020 and releasing it in the Fall of 2021. With that being said, I plan on withdrawing the funds raised from this donation once the LLC for the film gets approved by the state of Louisiana. If you don't feel compelled to donate, but would like to see me realize my goal, then I ask that you share this fundraiser with someone you know. Thank you to everyone involved!
Note: If you are a donor or viewer that knows someone with a desire for filmmaking, acting, music, or anything related to the filmmaking process in the New Orleans region, please get them to contact me via email.
