Hi all,
Gunther is our 7m old 83lb GSD currently hospitalized with a cannula in each nostril on oxygen.
Last night around 7pm a driver ran off the road roughly 6ft into our yard clipped our furbaby and ran. Gunther lost function of his hind end immediately, drug his body with his front legs to us. Within 20minutes we were at the emrgency vet, hearing the worst possibilities, he was pale and tacky eyes unresponsive to light, huffing and pulling to breathe.
Last night there was fear of brain swelling/bleeding, neuroligic issues, internal bleeding, ruptured bladder, spinal/pelvic damage, callapsed lung.
Today we have ruled out:
-ruptured bladder
-spinal/pelvic injury
Last night the doctor performed an abdominal tap to drain blood from the abdomen, our boy has stood up today, wobbly but walked. We are still not allowed to bring him home yet.
We have created this gofundme to help with further costs down this road to bring our boy home!!
