Funding for severely disabled neighbour

Dexter needs his sensory room fixed to help improve his quality of life and to keep him stimulated. As his family does not have the funds for this I want to help them by crowdfunding!  Meet Dexter!  Dexter was born 3 month premature however when he has about 18 months his mother noticed he was not developing properly this turned into him developing a wide range of medical issues and disabilities. He has been wheelchair bound all of his life. Dexter's family was told his life expectancy was 7 years old. He has proven all medical professional's wrong and is now 27 years old! Throughout his life has had to go through some major challenges along with his mother who cares for him. He has always been in and out of hospital with medical professionals not always knowing how to deal with him.  Dexter has always been a big lad, however at Easter 2017 he stopped eating and lost more than half of his body weight. He was admitted to hospital for 3 months and has been tube fed since then. Although it has always been difficult for Dexter and his family the last three years have been very hard on them as Dexter has had to have the tube fitted into his stomach full time for medication and food which has caused a long list of issues for him meaning he has needed even more care than usual. Since this has happened Dexter's mobility has got even less. Dexter's mother asked the authorities for help with building him a sensory room around 12 years ago, they would not help so his sisters started fund raising to make this possible. The sensory room is now rotten and not appropriate for him. It has been left down to the family to maintain it. With his mother being his full time career with little income she can not afford to get it fixed or buy the new equipment to suit Dexter's needs meaning he is unable to get any use of it. He is very limited to what he can play with, needing special equipment. Resulting in Dexter getting into all sorts of mischief at home to try and entertain himself. Dexter loves being in his sensory room and it is a shame for him not to have this facility to use. I would like to try and help get it fixed for him asap. I would be very grateful for any bit of help towards getting this back up and running for him. It would mean the world to Dexter and his family.  Thank you for taking the time to read this! The donations will go directly to Dexter and his family, and they will be able to use them to fix his sensory room.
