Funding for Rebecca's two boys

Rebecca's Story....

When I first met Rebecca, she was sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Her two special needs boys, Kwabena and Yawkra, aged 9 and 10 respectively at that time, had broken her bed. This was my introduction to the family and its become just one of the many, many reasons why I want to help.

While the boys have very special needs, they are simply incredible and give an immense amount of love to everyone, and in return, they are loved by their carers, teachers and just about everyone who meets them.

Over the last 6 years I have seen them grow into adulthood and that has brought so many more challenges.

Their condition however, means they require an incredible amount of care, understanding, patience and protection. As Rebecca is a single mother, this has placed a monumental amount of pressure on her to care for the boys.

Thankfully she has a mother who cares for and loves the boys as much as she does and between the two of them, they try to give the boys an amazing life and a life they would not have otherwise received.

However, there are always two sides to a story and other side to this does not always have a happy ending.

Sadly, Rebecca's mother was also diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July this year. Robyn has had surgery but now faces weeks of radiation therapy which will be followed by other treatments. This has impacted, and will continue to impact, the level of help she can now offer Rebecca for the boys. And as an additional impact, there is simply no one else who can help or replace her.

Now, over the years, most appliances in her home have been damaged or have stopped working in some way. The floors and tiles have been broken, many walls and doors have been damaged to the point that they need major repairs and most cupboard doors in the kitchen and in other rooms are no longer functional. The items that need to be repaired or replaced will cost a substantial amount and the NDIS will not help in these circumstances.

It is for the reason above that I am asking for your help and the sooner the funds can be raised, the sooner Rebecca can improve the lives of her boys.

So how can these funds help Rebecca?
$50 will buy new towels
+$100 will buy some new sheets
+$150 each will buy new mattresses for the boys
+$500 will repair/replace damaged tiles
+$800 will replace/repair new cupboard doors
+$1000 will replace the hot water system
+$1300 will replace the key locks with more secure digital locks
+$1500 will install a continuous hot water system for the boys to have their therapy baths
+$2800 will replace the floor in the lounge room
+$2000 will include the kitchen floor
+$6000 starts to buy the boys adult sized special needs equipment
+$6000 will repair damage to both boys rooms and other walls
+$6000 will repair their bathroom 

and most importantly...

+$2000 will allow Rebecca and her mother to enjoy a small holiday. This has not happened for 14 years.
